2005-02-18 : Golly gee, thank my ISP

Apparently I’m too late to pay a bill I really can’t claim that I have recieved. This wouldn’t be a problem as paying it takes about 2 minutes flat with the power of internet banking. The problem is that it’s a bill from my ISP.

So…well…Today my internet connection got shut down.

This is apparently one of their first actions. To shut down the connection. Irritating as hell but, again, not really a problem. I can always walk down to the s.k. Kassaservice (a swedish pay-your-bills place) and pay it there, if I make it before they close (shouldn’t really be a problem), get my connection back and life is good again.

But thats not really how things work you see. My ISP, Bredbandsbolaget, chose to shut down the connection on a friday and they won’t open the connection until the payment is registered in their systems. The whole transaction should be done towards the middle or end of next week, thanks part to the swedish banking system the fact that no transactions are moved during weekends, and THEN (maybe) I’ll get my connection back. YAY!

The bill has already been “paid” (i.e. money has been transferred FROM my account) as I write this.

Can I fax them the reciept? No way. Can I in any way speed things up? Apparently not. Will I be deducting a week’s payment off the next bill as they won’t be delivering a connection for a week? Most probably, yes.

All things said and done, no connection which means I can’t be updating all that much. Sorry bout that =/

On the other hand, this has given me a series of comic ideas so it isn’t all bad.

Love
/Alice
