Well, I’m connected again.

Apparently, they DIDN’T close us down because the bill was late, even though that was the explanation they gave to us earlier today. Apparently…the whole system was down for like…everyone. For a couple of hours today all of their customers were unconnected. This, of course, resulted in a massive wave of phonecalls which basically killed their swithcboard which in turn killed their verbal communication so they posted an announcement on the net stating that everything was kaput. This did their customers alot of good as none of them had an internetconnection.

So far they have not given a specific explanation as to what happened, nor why we a connection again, but here’s what I think happened;

1. They outsource the administration to subcontractor. Unfortunately the new tech guy didn’t quite have the “hang of things”. So, instead of shutting down the 3000 customers that were late he just shut them all down.


2. So, now everything’s down. Nobody seems to notice though as the new tech-guy is buisy promoting casual friday.


3. When they realised the shit had indeed hit the fan, they killed the switchboard, turned the DHCP server back on and decided to deal with it monday (Hey, it’s friday afternoon man, no WAY I’m doing any work now)

If I’m right about this, you’ll notice on monday morning as, although I have paid my bill today, they wont have received the money by then and will, again, kill the connection. I.e. no strip
